For a while now I’ve wanted to attempt making a podcast or two based on posts from the blog. I’ve always been more naturally comfortable typing up my thoughts rather than recording them, even after a decade of teaching. However, lockdown over the past year has meant that teachers have had to embrace different formats, such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, as well as making recorded videos and PowerPoints for students. So, rather than putting up excuses as to why I couldn’t make a podcast, I decided to download an app – Anchor – and have a go.

The outcome of this is a short 3 minute introductory podcast to what I hope will become a series. In this episode I discuss the key reasons for doing a podcast, during which I provide an overview of some of my favourite features on the blog. And, well, that’s it.

The process of recording the podcast was very simple. The app Anchor has everything at your fingertips to record and to publish online; all of which was much more straightforward that I first feared. However, doing this short, very simple podcast has impressed on me the forward planning that is needed to make a truly engaging podcast experience.

Hopefully I will get the chance to spend some time piecing together something more substantial in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, here’s my one, humble, short offering to the world of podcasting.
